Probably a meaningless stat to justify my selection but...Davis 1-9 against players over 5"8 on hardcourt who are ranked higher. Think the Townsend kick serve will do some damage.

Jung played so bad in his previous match. Impossible to back after witnessing.

Osaka is a Juggernaut when she wins the first set. 50-0 or something ridiculous. Hope some of you got on her to win the 3rd set. 2.00 was very nice.
  • Novak Djokovic (SRB) d. Kei Nishikori (JPN) 6-1 4-1 ret.

It will be the win of the year if Nishikori gets the job done today, given how Djokovic owns this event. However, kinks in the armor of Djokovic are there, dropping sets in his previous two matches. The real task is if Nishikori has the energy in the tank given how many 5 setters he has played coming into this. However, this is the match of his life (other than US OPEN final) and I expect a close one.

why the hell not? the odds are good. Nishikori on a good day and Djokovic on a bad day can get the job done, no doubt.
