Hard Court, Quarter Final0 (288) Aces +$0 ROI:+0.0% 0%Jan 24 2017 22:13:18Pliskova a star on the rise. She has crushed 8 of 9 opponents in 2017, with the one tough match against a very in form Ostapenko (who has also beaten Lucic-Baroni in straight sets this year). Pliskova has comfortably covered the -4.5 in every match she's played this year. Lucic-Baroni has had a good run but the only really impressive win was over A-Rad, after that 2 matches against 21 year old kids whose best tennis lies in the future. Sakkari was dissapointing and Brady offered little. Vast gulf in talent here. if Pliskova is "on" she will probably crush her in straights.- Roger Federer (SUI) d. Hard Court, Semi Final0 (288) Aces +$0 ROI:+0.0% 0%Jan 24 2017 12:25:28I really hope I'm wrong.
Stan feels like the only obstacle between Fed & history. Don't see anything on the other side of the draw that worries me, certainly not Raonic.
Unfortunately I think Stan overpowers Fed from the back of the court. He has the potential to hit #1 this year in my opinion. Better serve than Murray & Djoker, heavier forehand, best backhand in the world. Crazy to think that Stan & Murray have actually won the same amount of grand slams. Just needs to improve his movement & agility I feel.- Roger Federer (SUI) d. Mischa Zverev (GER) 6-1 7-5 6-2
at Australian Open ATP Slam (AUS)
Hard Court, Quarter Final0 (288) Aces +$0 ROI:+0.0% 0%Jan 24 2017 05:05:54Usually I find the player traits section really useful (even though most players seem to have "blacklisted" as their predominant trait).
Some of these player traits are stupid however...
Federer
Mentally fragile (4)
Hardcourt (3)
If anybody is an all court player it is Federer. Hardcourt should be used almost exclusively to descibe big serving Americans. As Jimmy Connors once famously said "[In the modern game], you're a clay court specialist, a grass court specialist or a hard court specialist . or you're Roger Federer."
Also if Fed is mentally fragile then everybody is mentally fragile.
What we need is a special trait just for Fed recognizing the greatness of his forehand. You could call it "Soul crushing forehand" or perhaps something less dramatic "Forehand weapon". The only other person qualified for that trait is Rafa, who probably challenges Fed for the greatest forehand of all time...
