Novak Djokovic capped his flawless season with winning the ATP World Tour Finals with a straight sets victory over Roger Federer.
The Swiss defeated Novak in the group stage of the event, but was simply no match in the final in their second encounter in a week span. Errors on crucial points most of them from teh Backhand side cost Roger dearly as well.
This is his 5-th ATP WTF title and 4-th in a row,as no other player has achieved that in consecutive years
The Head 2 Head between the two now stands at 22 apiece
Speaking on court, Djokovic said: “Obviously I’m very proud, together with my team, for the achievements of the season. It could not have been a better finish. It’s been a long season, but the best of my life.
“I’m trying to cherish every moment on court where I play at this level.”
Federer said: “It’s never fun not being on the winning side, but it’s better than not playing at all like last year. First of all I’ll say how happy I am that could play today.
“This week was great again, and it’s been a fantastic year all around. I tried my best, I thought I played some great tennis all week and in the final, but Novak deserves the win today like so many times this year.”
The loss to Novak ensured that Andy Murray will finish the year at No.2
Only the Davis Cup tie between Belgium and Great Britain is left to be played starting this Friday,to finish off this incredible 2015 season. Players can finally take some time off before IPTL and most importantly the Aussie Swing in the start of the new year.
