Once again the Tour Finals will take place at London’s O2 Arena. The opening matches are on Sunday.
The 8 players are split into 2 groups and will play a round robin format to qualify for the semi finals.
Whatever happens Nadal will end the year at number 1. The winner can potentially pick up 1500 ranking points.
This is for the second tier of players. it will be played on hard courts.
We have 4 groups of 3 players. They play a round robin format with the group leader going forward to the semi finals.
The final grand slam of the season gets under way on Monday.
I’ll look at who might have a chance of progressing through the tournament. As with Wimbledon the tournament looks wide open for the women.
Big question! However the more you trade tennis matches the more you see that it doesn’t need to be complicated. Of course people will try to tell you the opposite. You can get overwhelmed by theories and statistics and opinions from other people.

This could turn out to be one of the most open Wimbledon’s for many years. Serena is away getting ready to have a baby. That should put an end to the rumours that she’s a bloke.
Pliskova was the market favourite a week ago and that has been backed up by her winning Eastbourne this week. She doesn’t have a good record at Wimbledon although she has started to believe that she can win a slam. She reached the US Open final last season.
