Tough one, both ran over their ball bashing opponents yesterday. IMO, this will come down to nerves, guts, and fighting spirit. Halep has yet to show these on the big stage while Kerber has these in spades and looks as determined as ever. Gotta go with Angie on this.

Eh, worth a shot, Birdo is treeing right now and has caused Fed issues in the past. Plus this tournament has gone all crazy, imagine a Grand Slam Semifinals lineup of Edmund/Cilic/Chung (Sandgren??)/Berdych.
  • Angelique Kerber (GER) d. Madison Keys (USA) 6-1 6-2

Don't look too much into Kerber's struggle with Hsieh as Hsieh was playing absolutely sublime "Santoro'esque" tennis that neutralizes Kerber's strengths. Not the case against Keys. As well as Keys is playing, she can be easily frustrated if she is forced to hit multiple winners to win a point. I expect Kerber to brick wall Keys and force numerous UEs.
  • Agnieszka Radwanska (POL) d. Taylor Townsend (USA) 6-3 7-5
    at Auckland WTA Int'l (AUS)

Not convinced Aga has regained any of her good form yet, Townsend started slow against McHale but finished very well and looks to be in better shape than she ever has.
