both showing good tennis around, particularly Sakkari in Wuhan. Only clash between those two was a tight 3-setter

Goffin is struggling since his injury at RG. Plus, he played Davis Cup semi last week and might lack some gas as the french men in this Moselle Open (Pouille, Mahut, P2H). The transition between grass and indoor hard is difficult, while Paire played and won an exhibition indoor last week and is showing great confidence here.

KDS was strong against Mahut, and he can play Mischa as he beat him in Montpellier (indoor hard) earlier this year 6/4 6/3
  • Yuichi Sugita (JPN) d. Geoffrey Blancaneaux (FRA) 6-2 6-2 6-0

Blancaneaux is a very mature young french player. He's like Goffin, small without killer shot, but very complete player. He performs especially on clay, he won RG junior last year and just won 3 Futures in a row. He's WC here in the USO and I think he's ready to show what he's capable. He have the ambition to get into the top 100 in the following year. Sugita had a great summer showing great confidence but it might be the perfect moment to face him as he lost his last 2 matchs in very straight sets.
