Brilliant from Nadal to take the Gold for Spain just before he is to be announced as the new World no.1. If he keeps this vein of form up he will even be able to give Federer a tough test at the forthcoming U.S. Open.

SONNYCHEVEZ - WOW!!! I don`t think I need to wait anymore for giving you aces, 2-5 Nadal in third!
The new #1 in tennis (with some gold around his neck), Rafael Nadal!!!

It is very difficult for me to go with Gonzo after he "wasn't 100%" sure that the ball ticked his racquet. I can tell you that I never was uncertain when a ball hit my racquet like that. However, he deserved to win the match after Blake couldn't find a way to cash in on the match with a 0-40 score in the 18th game of the 3rd set. Not to mention Blake's other opportunities. I just cannot see the value going with Nadal at the current odds. I wonder how many of the members here who are going with Nadal actually place their hard earned cash on him? I would wager that not many actually part with their money in hopes of collecting a paltry payoff. It sure is easy to part with fantasy money on this site. Anyway, I have two choices, leave this match alone, or wager a small bet (for real) on Gonzo. Desiqundah wrote a very insightful post when he keyed on the possibility that if Nadal focuses on Gonzo's backhand that Gonzo would be in big trouble since his backhand is much weaker than his monster forehand. All that resonates in my mind when I think about the past 4 or 5 matches when Federer was playing Rafa was how neutralized Federer was with the constant pressure to his backhand. I cannot imagine that Rafa will not be able to pound away at Gonzo's backhand. Still I cannot see any value with Rafa at the current price and Gonzo is definitely in form, so I am going with the tickless wonder man...Gonzo.

This is fairly clear cut for me, Nadal should win this match and the only thing that is standing in his way is a player who for me is extremely overated, Gonzalez was very nearly ousted by Blake and to me doesn't possess the fortitude to beat Nadal here.

Tip: ATP Players can have an uncanny liking (or disliking as the case may be) of certain tournaments. These sorts of factors are not directly built into the Insight Tennis Model and often help explain sudden reversals of form.
