| | Bopanna, the lucky loser, has lost 5 of his past 7 matches that have predominantly consisted of challenger matches, and has also been forced to retire twice with rib injuries and gastro illness. Hasn't been fully fit for a while, and is not getting any younger. Montanes is no doubt the classier play, but he prefers the clay, and is 0-2 indoors career record. Bopanna must serve well otherwise the Spaniard will be too solid from the back of the court, but if the Indian can be a little inventive and force Montanes out of his comfort zone when rallying then could be an interesting match. 3 setter, Montanes. |

| | Not a great match to bet on. Devilder is predominantly a claycourter and has been all out of touch this year. Bopanna has been playing more regularly on the tour and is consistent in most aspects of the game. Despite his 1-0 h2h deficit against the Frenchman, he should lift here in front of screaming Indians and get thru in straight sets. |

| | Tsonga is quietly making his way up the rankings and I for one expect that trend to continue. A big serve and some strong groundstrokes particularly on the forehand side and his aggressive nature make him a very watchable player. Bopanna is very effective on faster courts at challenger level but generally struggles when stepping in to this type of arena. It may even be worth a small wager for Tsonga to win this title. |

| | Bopanna is not to be taken lightly here, he doesn't make too many errors and will always make you hit that extra shot. That MIGHT play well here against Tsonga, an ultra-aggressive Frenchman with a booming serve. Prone to lapses in his games, but if he plays anywhere near the standard he showed in the US Open early rounds, he'll have no trouble here. He'll dictate Bopanna by running around on his forehand as much as possible, and the Indian will need to have a field day with the return of serve otherwise the big man will approach the net far too easily and knock off point after point. Can't see it any other way - Tsonga in 2. |
