| | At this level in a tournament Petrova seldoms shows any choking habits. That plus that she is a much, much better player than Barbora Strycova makes the pick of a winner easy: Nadia Petrova.

| | Petrovas in form reaching the semis in tokyo fairly easy taking out Ivanovic and Radwanska, losing to eventual winner Safina.
She will be fresh since Tokyo was over a week ago compared to Strycova who played in the 3 Qualifying matches.
