| | Despite her age, Larcher de Brito is probably the most talented and skilled player in the qualifying draw and it would be an injustice to see her not in the main field in fact it's disappointing she wasn't given a wildcard given her performances this year. Spears is no mug as she ousted Sprem in the opening round, but Larcher de Brito is superior in nearly all departments aside from a tendency to throw in the occasional double fault. The cobwebs should be cleared after a rusty start against Haynes, and the Portugese child prodigy if she gets going will have far too much brilliance for the local girl. |

| | What an amazing 15yr old very few players exhibit this level of skill at this fragile age, Larcher is a great prospect for Portugal and I would expect her to win this match fairly well. |

| | Spears is a solid top 200 player but has not had results which would suggest she will make strides towards the top 100. Form wise she showed promise last week with a win over Baltacha and 2 tight sets loss to Stosur. Czink has been floating around the top 100 for the last 4 years and started the year poorly. Results have improved since and she has competed well with top 100 players. Qualifying last week will offer confidence and match practise so will side with the form player Czink in this one. |

| | I completely agree with Phlista. If you looks at Spears, she had more than held her own on hard courts with superior competition. This is a totally winable match for her and well worth a play at these odds. |
