| | But with Carlos Moya waiting in the first round, the dream could soon be over. “It’s great just to have made it this far,” the Argentinean confides. “I came to this tournament with no expectations and thought I’d be going home quickly. Since Bordeaux, I’ve had trouble serving and can hardly train. I have to see the doctor three times a day.” |

| | Ah back injuries are a killer in tennis, ask Roddick about it. Particularly for servers. Maybe I'll go for Moya. Cheers for that. It's a pity Schwank would have wanted to do well here at the French. |

| | ********* Schwank has a back injury ********** completely put me off backing the Argentine here. Apparently injured it in Bordeaux and is in a fair amount of pain when serving and has admitted that he didn't expect to get this far. Given this information I'll be shocked if he did anything much here. |

| | Schwank has won eighteen consecutive matches on clay but qualifying wasn't exectly plain sailing for the young Argentine and he has spent more than five and a half hours on court during those qualifying efforts and there is a possibilty that schedule will be beginning to take its toll now. Moya is lining up in his thirteenth French Open and only once has he exited at the first round stage, four of his last five defeats here have been to players that have gone on to reach the final but his record on the European clay is a less than inspiring 3-4 coming into this event. He did show his best form most recently when reaching the quarters in Hamburg. Schwank has limited experience on the main tour and Moya should be favourite to take this. |

| | Moya didn't start his year off how he would have hoped and has lost in his first match in 3 out of his last 4 events. His form was picking up considerably however in Hamburg and he beat Benneteau, Rochus and a rejuvenated Marat Safin before running into Rafael Nadal. Schwank has won 3 consecutive challenger events in Cremona, Rome and Bordeaux which include wins over De Voest, Schukin, Gicquel and Kunitsyn. Schwank did struggle through the qualifiers though with two 3 set wins over 2 virtual unknowns in Bjorn Rehnqvist and Vladimir Ignatik. I have little doubt about Moya winning this one and his experience will see him through alone. Moya is a bigger hitter than Schwank and I'm going for 3-0 Moya. Haven't seen any prices as yet but if they are fair Moya is the definate call. |

| | An interesting first round matchup here which pits two players at very different stages of their career up against each other. I'll personally be having a small bet on Schwank at decent odds, given his recent good form and Moya's relatively lacklustre start to 08. |
