| | I find value here on Naso as he is a typical clay courter playing mostly on Challenger level. He passed three qualifying rounds here without much trouble and has the needed practice on the courts in Munich. On clay he should be better than the old fighting legs of Rainer who has not beaten a good player on clay since 2005. Good luck! |

| | Fish had what looks a poor 1-5 record on the clay last year but all of the losses were to proper dirtballers in Acasuso, Massu, Moya, Gaudio and Zabaleta. Schuettler certainly doesn't fall into the category of any of the aforementioned players on this surface. The American won this title a couple of years ago (aided by a walkover and a retirement) but he is never going to rank up there with the quality players on this surface although he has in theory the tools to do pretty well on clay. A decent serve, powerful off the ground and his movement although not great is satisfactory. Schuettler doesn't have a big armoury at his disposal and even when he was inside the worlds top 10 was pretty average in most departments and his defensive skills were his biggest asset. Fish suffered a big let down in Miami after his Indian Wells excertions but should come in relatively fresh for this match. This is another match that falls into the for the attacking player to lose category. |
