| | Benneteau is a deserved second seed in qualifying and would usually be almost good enough to make the main draw on this surface. His record on clay is not as good as it is hard, but he's no mug and he did test both Ferrer here last year and especially Djokovic in a real slog in the Hamburg TMS. He is a solid baseliner who likes to go for his shots, and he's been doing so in great form of late. He won an Italian challenger in Feb and defeated en route to the Vegas quarters, but Miami was his highlight. He knocked off Schuettler, Karlovic and Tsonga, and then let a one-set lead disintegrate over Andy Roddick in the Round of 16. David Guez has been losing in the early rounds of challenger events - his last 6 defeats to the hands of players ranked 106 and lower. He has lost 7 of his past 9 on the dirt, and Benneteau will triumph with the loss of probably no more than a couple of games. |

| | Guez usually plys his trade in challenger and future events. Simon put up some resistance against Nadal in the Aussie Open before falling in straight sets, Nevertheless he should have too much for Guez whom he has beaten twice in the past. |

| | Guez is the local boy, and I was impressed with his performance against Jurgen Mezler in France only a month or so ago. He held serve extremely well there, and produced some solid groundstrokes and had chances to oust the Austrian before losing in 3 sets. Querrey has been awfully out of touch lately, and won't like this task. At real good value, Guez could b a real surprise packet! |

| | 2 days ago Querrey plays with Ljubicic without breaks. Guez is a weak player now, even in France.
Querrey in 2. |
