| | Kendrick went into the Gentlemen's Singles tournament in Wimbledon 2005 ranked 237th in the world. His first match was on the second day of the Championships; It was on Court 9, and he beat Yen-Hsun Lu of Chinese Taipei 765 63 60. The fourth day of the Championships was one of the highlights of Kendrick's career. In the second round, he lost to the second seed, Rafael Nadal on Centre Court. The Spaniard had to come back for only the second time in his career from two sets down to beat Kendrick in five sets (674 36 7-6² 75 64). This performance at SW19 surprised many. Kendrick was ranked outside the top 200 at the time of the match, but employed a serve and volley style of play that appeared to frustrate Nadal for almost 3 sets. Some consider Kendrick to be unfortunate not to have won because at 5 games to 4 and 30-15 up in the 3rd set with Nadal serving, a close line call went against him which would have meant 40-15 and two match points. Although Kendrick appeared dismayed by the call, a television replay showed that the call was correct and should have gone against Kendrick. As it was, Nadal went on to win the set in a tie-break and then the match. Kendrick's serving impressed many, as he served twenty-eight aces, compared to Nadal's seven. After the match, a commentator for BBC Sport exclaimed that it was "the match of the tournament so far". Kendrick was the only player in the tournament to take sets off Nadal on the Spaniard's route to the final, where he lost to the number one seed. Kendrick kicked off 2008 by playing in the Australian Open, where he lost in the first round to fellow American Amer Delic, then ranked 136th in the world, by a score of 64 75 62. Although Kendrick won 76% of points where he got his first serve in, he only won 36% of points where he did not. He was broken five times. Joshua Goodall aged 22, from Basingstoke England, is a British Tennis Player and one the brightest prospects for the future of British Tennis along with the likes of Alex Bogdanovic and Jamie Baker. His highest ATP ranking was 205 at the end of 2006. The player surprised many last year by making the main draw of both Wimbledon and The U.S. Open. Both of these players are surely worth a place in the Wimbledons main draw, so it is a shame one of them will have to go out, but i really cant see Robert Kendrick going out today, at least not after all the tennis i have seen from him so far. |

| | Hewitt seems to perform well in this Queens, winning the title four times since 2000. Goodall, being a Briton will not be of any significance whatsover, as the Adelaide resident defeated the home crowd favourite at that time, Tim Henman, on two straight occasions, and also Pete Sampras at the start of this millenium. Sure, Hewitt is not as great as before, but there have been signs of improvement over the past few months, and this is likely to be a straight set victory for the Australian. A good multi bet partner. Good luck. :).... |

| | Hewitt straight sets. No shame in his narrow 5 set loss to Ferrer, he maybe would have expected better but will take confidence in a return to top level competition. He will be enjoying the prospect of the grass court season now and will give Mr. Goodall a free lesson how it's done. Then on to bigger and better things. I only say high stake because there's no option for Huge stake. |
