| | Niemeyer generally plays well in this part of the world and the hardcourts favour his solid serving game. The veteran doubles speciallist will look to move into the net as much as possible to put Rehnquist under immense pressure, and the Swede has not played for a month citing a leg injury which places him under mobility and fitness questions also. |

| | Doubles specialist Niemeyer was competitove for a set against Robredo I seem to remember recently but has struggled for results on the Challenger circuit mainly. Canas is still able to produce a top performance like he used to more consistently on his day. He should wil this pretty comfortably. |
