| | @koliopp, although the ATP tennis site is useful, they do not include the qualifying rounds, Berrer lost to those well known claycourters, Craca, Perez-Minarro, Kroslak and Luxa in qualifying at the Stuttgart tournament winning one set. Then as you said Monaco. |

| | if you look closer berrer loses came in hands of brands who polayer really great in rg quals after that seppi granollers fedex schuettler djoko for me p0retty imressive opponens and according to atp tennis site berrer playd just once in here losing to monaco in 3 and prodon after rg lost to POSPISIL(who?) and hajek and ungur and after that in all french draw he won serra and ascione losing to devilder in LUgano
no matter the style I dont rate Prodon as even mediciore claycourter Brrrer to end his losing streak here |

| | Berrer is on a poor run of form and has lost his last six including to compatriot Brands ranked 225 on clay. The big serving and aggressive shotmaking of Berrer don't really lend themselves to clay and can be neutralised by decent claycourters that limit their errors. Prodon certainly falls into that category and the Frenchman has been fairly prolific on the challenger circuit on dirt this year. Berrer has lost all five matches he has played at this tournament which is not a good sign for the German. Prodon went down in three breakers to Ljubicic at the French which is proof enough he should be able to handle the Berrer serve. Prodon did beat Berrer way back in 2001 on clay and although he plays most of his tennis at challenger level looks a solid call in this one. |

| | I agree. Fair enough Ljubicic hasn't being playing his best tennis recently but he cannot be written off. I wouldn't really say that he has been an overrated player, sure very disappointing in the grand slams but a fine player, and he should have no problems disposing of "Prodon" who to be honest, I have never even heard of. He has not been playing against guys of Ljubicics quality by looking at his previous match results. |

| | First thing to add is that I admit a soaking set court will not help Ljubicic at all if he gets to play today. But I will say that this reminds me of Smeets - Berdych yesterday in the same feeling I had that a Smeets value bet was seriously clutching at straws. I think Ljubicic's groundstrokes are a bit better than average he is atleast solid off both sides and is smart enough to atleast get depth on his shots onto the baseline, makes it much harder for an average player to take advantage of him. Despite the zero-gravity slowness of the courts now, I'm not particularly sweating my Ljubicic bet I think he will win this. The loss of a set even would raise my eyebrow. |
