| | The key to wimbledon 1st round matches is adjusting to the surface conditions. Bolelli has come of the back of a fantastic clay court season with Quality results. On the other hand Bogdanovic has already has quality wins on Grass last week and he will adjust to the court faster. Also with a home crowd advantage take Bogdanovic to win. He's in form |

| | The surface should be much too fast for the Italian who has a good baseline game, but on grass should be down to the level of his opponent. Bogdanovic played good tennis on grass when I watched him some time ago and with his current coach and the experience on the surface he is worth a punt. |

| | I couldn't even begin to consider taking Bogdanovic as a 1.90 shot in this one, even if he is the more accomplished player on grass. You only need to look at the rankings and results of both players to see who has made progress in his game, and who clearly hasn't. For that reason alone, Bolelli should be the favourite. |

| | Two previous challenger meetings between the pair both saw a retirement from the losing player in the second set, splitting the decision 1-apiece, but the stage is many years down the track and on a much bigger stage. Bogdanovic disappointed against Sirianni at Queens, but did beat handy serve-volleyer Zverev at Surbiton and qualified in Nottingham before failing to make the quarters as the explosive Cilic got the better of him in two tight sets. The Brit has received a wildcard yet again to an event where he boasts a horrible record losing first round all 6 attempts however some of the calibre of opposition did include Federer, Nadal, and even last year the difficult Chris Guccione. The local boy does play a lot of his matches on grass - unlike his dirt-loving Italian opponent in Bolelli - and victories over the likes of Lee, Baghdatis, J Johansson and narrow losses to Tursunov, Mirnyi and Melzer would strongly suggest he is no mug on the terrain. Bolelli's form, as expected, has tapered off come the close of the clay season and two lead-up events has seen the promising baseliner succumb to Gasquet and Benneteau without much of a fight. He has an effective first ball, is super quick around the court and mixes defense well with a potent attack, however he is a mere 5-5 record on the grass stuff and is also yet to prove anything at Grand Slam level. Bogdanovic has the home crowd on his side and if he can implement an aggressive game and force the Italian onto the backfoot early he could well find himself in foreign territory two days later. |

| | These two have met twice before in challenger events back in 03 and 06 and are split at 1-1, both emphatically one-sided before a retirement in each. Bogdanovic played quite well last week in Nottingham narrowly losing to Cilic and has much more experience of grass courts than Simone. Bolelli has played 3 matches on grass this year and has lost 2 of them, to Gasquet (Queen's) and Benneteau first round in Nottingham, his win coming by way of retirement. Bogdanovic, the British No.3, possesses a decent serve and is a decent allround player. There is no doubt Bolelli is a better player than Alex in my opinion, he has an underestimated serve and has a powerful forehand along with great mobility around the court. Despite Bolelli's lack of gras court matches, I think he will win this one and if the odds are fair enough I'll take a chance. |
