| | TennisVampire has noted an injury to Cuevas and that is of definite concern in what appears a clear no-bet match. The Uruguaian is a capable young clay courter and has a definite future in the game particularly on this surface, but with the injury concern and a confidence-dinting loss to 15yo Ryan Harrison in Houston his mental state must raise some concerns. Brzezicki is nothing better than an average claycourter, and has lost 4 consecutive matches and was also suffering from injury only a month ago. The h2h is tied at 1-apiece, with Cuevas coming out victor in the only clay court match a year ago, and there is no doubt if he is fit and plays at only about 80-90% that he will come out on top but my hard earned will be definitely laid elsewhere. |

| | Just noted that Pablo Cuevas pulled out of his last match (a week ago) with a knee injury. |

| | Juan-Pablo Brzezicki lost his last match after being in total control and Pablo Cuevas lost to a 15 year old. I think there are better things to do with your money than gamble it on this match. |

| | Just to draw to the attention of the readers that this match was very suspicious indeed....... similar betting patterns to Davydenko Vs Arguello...... Brzezicki was 3.0 to back a set and 2-0 up --- where his starting price was just over evens....... betfair didn't void the metch again showing their fear of losing money through commission above the integrity of tennis. An absolute disgrace.
Take a look on the betfair forum

| | Two clay court specaillist battling it out - one in Brzezicki who is a little more aggressive and the other who simply plays like a ball machine who hits balls back to you in Hernandez. The Argentine leads the Spanird 2-1 h2h, and incidentally beat him in Vina del Mar only three months ago after snatching a tough first set tiebreak. But since then he has suffered an injury and two subsequent losses, and has not enjoyed much winning form of late. Hernandez has lost his last 4 all on clay funnily enough, but still lives and craves for this time of year. He is always a safe beat because you know he won't self-destruct, and I'm going to give him one more chance here. |

| | Starace got his season going with a hard fought win over Pashanski in the first round and the Italian will be reasonably satisfied to lining up alongside local Brzezicki who is more at home on the challenger circuit. The Argentine did have a decent win against lapentti in the first round but will find Starace a hungry opponent after having to serve his betting ban. Starace has a decent claycourt game with some solid goundstokes and good movement and he should win this match. |

| | Lapennti has been in fairly good form and gave Moya a scare in Brazil last week, the Ecuadorian has accounted for Brzezicki comforatbly in both previous meetings and is likely to get the better of the baseline exchanges once again. |

| | Experienced veteran Lapentti had his chances against Moya in the Brazil semis, but made unforced errors at the wrong moments. He is a solid baseliner who likes to attack, whereas the local Brzezicki will do most of the defending in this match. Lapentti has won both matches between the pair before (both were on clay) and his form has shown no signs of faultering especially on this favoured surface. Brzezicki has never been past the first round here in four previous attempts and doubt that will change here in a straight set loss. |

| | Patience has yet to gain a win this year but in Brzezicki meets a player he has beaten twice in the past coming from behind on both occasions. Neither player has a particularly big serve but Brzezicki has a fairly weak second delivery and that is where Patience can gain the upper hand. This is likely to be a long drawn out affair from the baseline but there looks to be some value at 2.4 in the Frenchman. |
