| | Gimelstob has had a pretty poor season which has garnered just 3 wins. Kohlschreiber does have a habit of hitting plenty of unforced errors but only needs to keep the ball in court to a reasonable degree to win this in a stroll. |

| | Gimelstob is one of the more unfit players on tour, therefore any player able to expose this is in with a good shot. Kohlschreiber has all the shots in the book along with a reasonable serve, and probably should have beaten Tsonga in Metz before the Frenchman got some home crowd momentum behind him. Both wings are good for the German, and he should be able to utilise this against the big American. Justin's first serve will need to be at a high rate, and even then Phillip's return of serve is very good and he'll get enough oportunities constatly throughout the match. |

| | Since April 2006 Gimelstob didn't win even a set in games with seeded players...
I don't see any reason to break this tradition...

| | Roddick has not lost a set to Gimelstob in two matches, including a workmanlike win at Wimbledon two months ago. Most important thing to note with American Justin Gimelstob is he's probably the last player you'd want trying to save your life if it was a best of 5 set match. He gets extremely tired, and his lack of fitness is a well known fact amongst other players who know they will most likely prevail should they push him the full distance. Not only this, Roddick is clearly the better player and his serve is going to put Gim under too much pressure. Expect this to be Gimelstob's last US Open, however a fairy tale is unlikely. Roddick in 3. |
