| | Like rael said, Blake will be happy the clay swing is over and he can get back to a fast low-bouncing surface where he can more effectively utilise his weapons. He has beaten the likes of Roddick, Monfils, Querrey, Andreev and Pavel on this surface, and made the quarters here last year at his first venture to the tournament. Phau is quick around the court and sound in defense, but this is a different class and he has only ever won 1 match against a top 10 player. Blake to kick off to a nice start with a straight sets win. |

| | Phau has 2-7 in Finals, 7-8 in Italy...
Schwank has 17-4 for last year on hard and 13-5 in Italy.
I think Phau had a very weak draw.
Schwank in 2. |

| | Tough one to pick. Phau is speedy and consistent from the back, and posseses some good controlled aggression in his matches. Moodie is a conventional big server who likes to rush to the net to take advantage of his opponents being often out of position on the return. Phau has lost 4 of his last 5 against the big men, but he was impressive at this tourny last year, making it all the way to the quarters before being halted by the talented Tomas Berdych. Phau also matched it with the high-flying Hyung Taik Lee last week for a set and a half which shows he's in smoe good touch. Stick with form and match play and Phau will give you some good value to win in 3 sets. |

| | After a succesful US Open Lee looks to be in top form at the moment, he dropped serve just once in his first round match and won 77% on first serve. Phau was broken 4 times by Sanguinetti but took advantage of the Italians poor second serve to come through in 3 sets. Lee is undoubtedly the form player here and should win although the current odds are rather prohibitive. |

| | Phau really struggled against the veteran Sanguinetti, and got out of jail in a second set tiebreak before going on with it. Lee was clinical in his dispatch of Adrian Garcia, an the South Korean dynamo is playing as well as I've ever seen him. Rock solid on serve, and gives nothing to his opponents. His unforced error count in his career must be as low as anyones, as he simply wears down his opponents in extremely long baseline rallies. With his improved service motion, he is getting more value with cheap points, and expect the speedy Phau to struggle with that. Their 5 meetings, all on this surface, shows a 3-2 swing to Lee, and interesting to note 4 of those have been straight sets so whoever gets off to a good start here will be in the box seat it seems. Lee is playing too well - 2 sets. |
