| | Mathieu is a much better player than Cilic...He dominates the croat in every department excepting serve...but Cilic isn't the best serve-volley in the tour so if Mathieu can put the ball into play he has every chance to advance to the next round |

| | Cilic won the last meeting between the pair but Mathieu had won the previous three and all four have gone to three sets. Mathieu has been in top form since he lost the first set to Hernandez in the first round winning six straight sets since then and got the better of the aggressive Chardy in the last round. Cilic was forced the distance by Nieminen last time. Cilic is certainly a danger with his big serve and aggressive ground game but Mathieu looks the steadier and has posted by far the better return stats. |

| | First of all, I am so sick of this matchup. Nonetheless, I think this is a rather easy play: Mathieu. In every match they've played, Mathieu has owned the total points category except for the last time in which he still won 49% of the points. And I do believe it's possible he tanked the last set after winning the first set 6-1 and letting the 2nd set slip away, just because it was before wimbledon. Mathieu is definitely the better mover and I think Cilic will put in a poor effort in this match. Lay the price. |

| | It is quite remarkable how this two guys can't get away from each other. This will be their fifth match this season, and the third one in the last three weeks, all on grass. Cilic won last week in Nottingham. The Croatian played a great match yesterday even though he needed five sets to dispose of Nieminen, he still showed many of his talents. Mathieu is known as the biggest choker in tennis and I do believe that he has reached his limit. I simply don't think that he can improve. On the other hand, Cilic is getting better week in, week out and the future looks extremely bright for the young Croat. If he maintains the level of play he produced in the second round he should get through this match. |

| | This is the time when Cilic starts getting nervous & loses matches which are in his reach. Mathieu is also a squid but slightly smaller squid perhaps & should take this in 4 sets. |

| | Amazingly enough these two met four times this year and Mathieu holds 3-1 advantage. Still on grass they are even. Both possess a solid serve with Cilic having a close edge because of his height and power. Mathieu has big advantage in the rallyes because he is faster and more talented and his loss to Cilic maybe due to the unwillingness to go into a tournament just before Wimbledon. Cilic had a hard time with out of form Nieminen while Mathieu showed some solid game in his matches so far and he gets my vote here. |
