I had 6000 on Seppi when he was leading 5-2 in the second set. The payout was a measly $1.02. Hey, this match was entertaining as well as profitable. I SWEAR I WILL NEVER BET ON THOSE ODDS AGAIN!!!

@bellorino-I watched it & I still don't believe it.that great great great great grandma comment -must be true-I don't know wether I'd say it was a gutsy win-it really should have been over in 2.However Kiefer then got a case of the Seppi's serving at 5-4 for the match & losing his serve to love. From there it really was a coin toss as to who would win.Fortunately for Seppi he won the day.Good luck tomorrow against the Fed Express-you'll need it

AMAZING... Glad i kept the faith and stayed up to witness the win. Everyone who said he was weak and pathetic should be embarassed as this was a gutsy hard fought win against a bloke in great form in front of his home crowd. Well done SEPPPPP!!!!!

Of course it was a mistake he made by not serving out at 5-2 when he knew letting Kiefer back in would get the crowd up and ratchet the pressure onto himself. It's the same as England playing for penalties when they know they can't win. Of course it was Seppi's mistake for not serving it out. Like I said in my original preview Seppi would coast this match unless he suffered from nerves which is his only weakness I can see. That's exactly how it's gone. Everyone is mentally fragile if they heap enough pressure onto themselves. Seppi's mistake was not stamping on Kiefer when the crowd was silent.

The money doesn't matter. We understand the risks of the punting game and you take your chances. You should not bet with what you can't afford to lose . I don't need people to feel sorry for me.

Same time down my way as well. I would be very suprised Bellorino if Seppi came back from here.
Interesting the commentator says that you have to feel sorry for Seppi: Who is he kidding?

227367 => One of the same I would have thought. To be able to handle pressure is mental strength to not be able to handle it is mental weakness.

@stonecold.no-i would say it is pressure-not mental weakness although as I said "Fishbone" Seppi is a bit fragile in both areas

Rael => It's not a mistake that he made. A mistake happens when you are unsure and don't know what you're doing. these are professional athletes that get paid lots of money to do what they do for a living. It is weak mental capacity and fragile minds that struggle to cope with the pressure. I agree that it does happen in other sports but none more than tennis.

22376=> My point exactly mate. Everything you just said can be calle mental weakness.....don't you think??? I'm not sure about it hapenning more on any particular surface I just reckon the modern tennis player is a little precious about himself and has very very little mental strength.

Stone Cold it happens in every sport why can England not score from 12 yards in every major football tournament. Missing a penalty is even worse than dropping serve. Seppi was always going to fold if he let the crowd lift Kiefer again. He has been the better player and made the mistake at 5-2 serving.

stonecold.this can happen on clay more than on other surfaces because the serve is not as big a weapon ie:less winners on serve so players can get a roll on & win several games in a row.Seppi, however does have a bit of a reputation for not being able to close out matches-probably due to the fact he does not have 1 big shot. Most players are pretty good mentally,it's more a case of poor shot selection,swings/shots breaking down when under pressure & the old story-when things start to get tight your arm & racket start to feel quite heavy & for some players they cannot simply hit through this

227367 => Yeah I have money on Seppi but I can guarantee it's not the money talking. You see it over and over again. This seems to be the worst sport for it and I imagine because the centre of a tennis court is a lonley place where you don't have team mates. You don't have coaches that can settle you. Only one person can cotrol what's going on and that is the player and very very dew of them have the mental strength you would expect of professional athletes.

He needs to hold here, if he drops serve, its match over, he unlike Kiefer doesn't have the mental capacity to come back

@lilboi-don't be too concerned with 1st service stats for Kiefer. He goes for a lot on his 1st serve.Seppi only won 7 points since 5-2 up till he lost the set.Seppi deserved to lose the set rather than Kiefer deserving to win the set.Poor play from 'FISHBONE".

The modern day tennis player is pathetic. Obviously not all of them but the very large majority of them are nothing more than prima donnas who clearly are weak minded and have no mental fortitude what so ever. You see it time and time again where a player will look as though he is in a position where he can't lose. Then their fragile peanut brain will cost them the match. Absolutely pathetic.

Someone serving 43% of first serves doesn't deserve to win, but if Seppi loses this set, he might collapse in third
