Login to give Aces | | Jankovic has won the past two matches on clay whilst Williams exacted revenge at the US Open in a thriller, but interesting their last 5 matches have all gone the journey and these two definitely thrill the crowds when they meet. Jankovic has been suffering from a cold all week and as ryan_gwyer pointed out the breathing problems were evident against Kirilenko though the 6-1 6-1 routing would not suggest so. "The doctors gave me a lot of things to take, and that's what I have to do to play...I'm still on antibiotics and trying to recover", she said after the match. She was aggressive and went for her shots nonetheless, completing dominating the Russian from the back of the court. Venus Williams, who led 3-0 in both sets in her match against the in-form Zvonareva, escaped a narrow first set after a spirited fightback from the Russian and is really primed for this match. She claimed; "We always have great matches, but I feel better now than I have all year", and that is in stark contrast to the Serb. Jelena is my favourite player and she is the defending champion with a lot to play for especially given the rankings -adjustment on Monday amid Henin's retirement, but her physical condition is not going to help her against someone of Venus' devastation. Probably a good match to leave alone because I dare say a fully-fit Jankovic would pummel the American on this surface due to her superior defensive and athletic attributes as well a more consistent attack particularly down the line.

Login to give Aces | | A intresting matches this promises to be with there H2H tied a3-3 but Jankovic leading on clay 2-1.I was impressed with Jankovic performance today straight sets but i was more impressed with Venus against in form Zvonareva.Im getting very worried with Jankovic breathing problems she`s getting and that is why i am confident Venus will take care of Jankovic.The way Venus forehand was against Zvonareva it was awsome an that will be to much for a tired lookink Jankovic.Venus a good bet for me(comeon the William sisters!!) |
