Its a fair cop. I called this one wrong. Ferrer continues where he left off at the end of the season. Bandy...you wouldn't want to try and get between him and the Davis Cup by the looks of it. You'd lose an arm.

No pressure on DP so... ;)

@coderz54: I thought it might be something like that. Very sorry. It's just that the match is too far advanced now. Very sorry my friend but you have the satisfaction of knowing that you picked a winner. (if Nalbandian keeps playing the way is his that is!) Cheers.

@coderz54: Sorry coderz54 but the match started almost an hour ago and Nalbandian has already won the first set. We can't allow people to bet after a match has started. Sorry, but they are the rules, even if you don't know the scores. Sorry again.

@lilboi: cricket is good but it takes so long to see whether one has won or lost! I also really like tennis these days and I find the Australian cricket team so much less interesting with Warne and McGrath gone. Warne provided such great "theatre". I must say I think the tennis is at a fascinating crossroads too what with a great player in decline and a bunch of youngsters keen to take his crown...it's something that Shakespeare would write.

Nalby peaks in the late months of the year, Oct., Nov., Dec, while Ferrer is simply out of form and has not had his best year of tennis. Playing this match at home is truly HUGE and is just an added bonus for Nalby when he most likely doesn't need it. I just feel that Nalby could defeat Ferrer in Siberia at the moment. I admire Ferrer's heart of a lion like his compadre Rafa but this match is just asking too much of the Braveheart.

David Nalbandian has said that he wants Maradona in the crowd to support him. Well, i don't think David needs Maradona to win... "The hand of God"? No, no... David Nalbandian will win!

Nalbandian is deserved favourite and the 'likely' winner but his price is just plain ridiculous ! There I said it. I know its at home and Ferrer hasn't been playing well and Bandy wants this more than life itself, blah, blah, blah but 2/9 is an insult and anyone seriously thinking that price is value needs their head examined. Lay Nalbandian to win and trade out in-running. Ferrer's one of the best (if not the best) returners in the game and there will be plenty of break point chances today. You have to be able to do better than 2/9 in-running. Hell, Ferrer might even shock a few people today. Djokovic did in that Shanghai final.

Nalbandian will wipe the floor with Ferre. The Argentinians will not let the chance of a first Davis Cup slip by.

Ferrer has has a bad year with some bad losses. But he is a man that you can NEVER write off when it comes to the big stages and big matches. I think this is the type of match he needs to inspire him back to the Ferrer we all know and love (well i do anyway)!! Odds of 5.5 on Betfair are ridiculous in my opinion.... Im definitley having a chunk of it. Write ferret off at your own risk.... Good luck all...

Why anybody believes Ferrer will come out and play good tennis is beyond me.

He's been terrible for the last 6 months.

I doubt even he believes he can win.

If Ferrer recovers his past fighting spirit it could be a longer match than expected and he would have more options. Nalby will try to win it in a 3 setter and i think he will go out at maximum level and concentration to avoid it long. If Ferrer is able to win the first or second set the match will change radically to spaniard´s side. Form and crowd is on nalbys side but never forget Ferrer is able to bit anyone as made in the past. Maybe a flag will be enough to put him in contention...i´ll try

Nalby has a near perfect DC record @ home, dont think he'll lose this time considering his form and motivation.
