Lopez!!!!! Thanks to Destroyers analysis, the other comments, and the sheer weight of Insighters' tips I put heaps on Lopez when I would normally have left the match (the overall rankings being too close for me). :)

Montanes is poor because he has 3 wins on this surface to his name and the 3 people he has beat I could beat myself.

Felicicano Lopez and Big, dominant serve and volley on indoors hard should be a clear winner vs Monatanes who had a couple of wins the other week but will be up against much stiffer competition.

Phew! Two boring no-bodies tying to play something with a yellow ball, which is marked with the manufacturer's name: "Wilson"!

Until a few years ago tennis balls were manufactured both in Europe and in Noth America. Nowadays, most tennis balls are made in the Far East, because the labour costs are lower (read "slaves") and raw materials are cheaper.

The processes involved in creating tennis balls have not changed very much during the last 100 years. Btw. There are 2 basic types of cloth used in tennis balls. They are Melton cloth (high wool content) and Needle cloth (cheaper to produce and higher content of synthetic fibers).

Lopez should win this easily, but I have a strange feeling about this match just as I had with Youzhny v. Nieminen (backed Jarkko).

I'm not betting on this one.

@Cats - There won't be many rallies because Montanes is shit mate. This is more inevitible than a Scottish drunk.

Why is he poor Taylor LFC? Has he never won a match on the surface?
Tell u what - Lopez will win because this is a fast surface and his serve and volley game will dismantle Montanes more so than Montane's inability to play the surface. Fact is, there wont be many rallies which is where montanes has an advantage

Montanes is simply poor on indoor/outdoor hard courts and Lopez should be able to take advantage of this. I don't like Lopez because he can be a clown at times, but even he should win this one easily enough.

Simon P .......Lopez is better on hardcourts than claycourts !! Don't throw more money away on Montanes mate (who is a claycourter and is even worse on indoors harcourt than outside for some reason) as he has very little chance.

Montanes's weapons don't equip him for this type of surface against this type of opponent. In addition Lopez, who can be extremely flaky, showed he was prepared to dig in when he defeated Melzer in Vienna last week.
