Login to give Aces | | I agree with deuce44 in that Monfils has taken out two good opponents in Stepanek and Gonzalez. While Gonzalez hasn't been playing at all well he's been finding ways to win and for an example of that look no further than his match against Gulbis where he saved a succession of match points before killing Gulbis in the third. I think Monfils is running into some form. He was unlucky to run into a red hot Tsonga in Thailand a couple of weeks ago who crushed him and then beat Tsonga in straight sets in the final. Kohlschreiber had an easy win over Verdasco yesterday and was very impressive but I just don't rate Verdasco on hardcourt as his results demonstrate. I believe that Monfils is the more talented player and on that basis I'm going for him but not with enormous confidence. |
