Login to give Aces | | Watching this match & I can say that Safin is playing a handicapped player in Kunitsyn since Igor doesn't have a 1st service. Also, both players are chockers in my view so we are in for an interesting 3rd set. Safin has the advantage but Kunitsyn has the game but looks like that he's presenting Safin with a few presents at the moment! |

Login to give Aces | | Kunitsyn has performed really well in this tournament and I don't think many expected him to get this far, but for me he hasn't really beat anyone that makes you look and think wow. Safin started the tournament in typical fashion by playing dreadful, he didn't even realise he had won the match against Okum. He then played Davydenko and he put in a very good performance, serving an endless number of aces with many of them coming on break points. He had no right to win the match, but that shows his fight to come back from positions that looked impossible against someone like Davy. Marat is desperate for ranking points and I think he'll be equally as desperate to win this tournament in his home country. |

Login to give Aces | | IF? and with Safin it's always a big IF, IF Safin plays somewhere near his recent best he'll have too much firepower for Kunitsyn. Both have ordinary hardcourt records this year but Safin is by far the more accomplished player. Odds aren't great and beware the upset but he has to be the bet here. |

I had no money in this match and i wont invest here either but if Igor serves like yesterday and Safin wakes up in time to realize he can win a tournament this should be his victory at the end. But who knows in tennis and in Moskwa. |

And i think he will not: He has so much self-discipline left that he WANTS to win this tournament. He has sister by his side "caching" him and AT LAST Marat Safin has reached a final!!!
No, i don't think he will "give" this match away. It's all about money and Russians like Dollars and Euros. :-) |
