Garbin leads the h2h 2-1 but they are split at 1-apiece on hardcourt with Czink winning the last meeting back in 2005. The strongly-built Hungarian is a hardcourt speciallist and wins recently over the likes of Ditty, Savchuk, Razzano, Yuan, Niculescu and Musgrave on this terrain suggest she has no issues with generating her own pace which she'll need to do here. Garbin is a unique and tricky competitor, she doesn't possess an overabundance of power but she uses angles, mixes up her spins and pace, has a very good slice backhand and is not hopeless in the forecourt. The Italian made the 3rd round of the US Open so the confidence should be somewhat high, though on hardcourt in 2008 she is a mere 6-7 which exposes her weak aspects. Czink is very good on serve and as you can tell by the T.I hold stats that she gets good purchase off her delivery, and I think Garbin will be under pressure to hold her own serve and to constantly take speed off the ball to quell Czink's attack.
