Albert Montanes on the clay is hard to go bet against, especially since he is versing a rapidly fading Lee who in recent times has struggled.

Grandpa Hyung-Taik from Korea should have been intelligent enough to retire some years ago. Perhaps he still likes to go around in the world and look at interesting things. Will he e.g visit Count Dracula's castle in the Transylvania tomorrow? Nevertheless, Montanes doesn't need a shower after this match.

montanes can consistently play at a higher level than lee for me and on clay, i doubt lee's credentials to force the issue by inserting the pace. Montanes has superior fitness, form and experience and on clay, i expect him to grind out a win

Montanes won me quite some money at Amersfort and I think he will continue to deliver on the claycourts.
Lee has played four games since the french open, lost all four, two of them because of retirements. I find it very doubtful that he will be match fit in any way and clay is probably his worst surface. Montanes is looking really good to win this match.

Lee has lost all form and that's evident by the fact that 8 out of 8 people so far have tipped Montanes. The Korean has been longstanding his country's number one player but 2008 hasn't been his greatest year filled with injury problems and form dips. Even at his best, clay was never his favourite surface as he usually likes the ball coming onto his racket with pace and he's not won a match since ousting serve-volleying granddad Bjorkman at the French Open amidst some knee problems. Montanes, in contrast, is super fit and plays 90% of his tennis on this terrain slugging it out at ATP level. He was a finallist here in 2001 and despite not having relived those efforts since he always performs admirably on the clay courts and even has a title and TMS QF to his name for 2008. He's had enough time to freshen up, and the gritty Spaniard will keep good depth on his balls and simply force Lee to work overtime for his points. Hyung-Taik is not at home when forced to generate pace of his own, and Montanes will eventually get the better of him though I don't expect it to be a rout simply given the Spaniard's less-than-impressive serve.
