I cant see a Serve Volleyer doing any damage on the clay against a quality player like GGL. As one poster here previously said GGL has a good history against serve volleyers and he will be too quick on the clay for Mischa

GGL is in a good form, and the opposite can say about Zverev. The German has a strong serve, but GGL is a good returner againt fast serves. This being a slower surface, I think Lopez will win here IMO.

Not doing a Huge bet, as this a calm after a storm tournament (a "normal" ATP tournament at Round 1 after a Grand Slam), hence a bigger risk and expect more upsets. Good Luck :)....

Zverev is German. He will be sounder in mind and determined in his approach. More than I can say about Guillermo who should probably need a box of tissues the way he is playing. Wimp!

Expect a powerhouse display and a walloping to the Spaniard. Too bad it's not on HC tho.

Zverev is mismatched on clay and his approach will be unforgiven by the slow surface allowing for clean passes. The spaniard on the other hand is very comfortable and capable will highlight the weakness of manoevreability by his opponent

The year of Garcia-Lopez could be better and he shows some signs of mentally weakness and inconsistency in his performances. He played a very good tournament in Gstaad but in Kitz he had after beating Calleri in 2 a total breakdown versus Hanescu - in this match he was the favourite and lot of the members gave a big vote for him. Zverev is a bad mover and he relies a lot on serve but able in beating guys like Daniel and Horna this year i expekt no walk in the park for GL.

Cannot people the people here going for Zverez, absolute rubbish of a player, doesnt have much potential and his recors show that. Lopez a good player and should account for Zverev easily here.

Garcia-Lopez is freshened up after only making the second round of the US Open and the 2006 QFist meets serve-volleyer Mischa Zverev first up. The German has improved somewhat this year, but remains an unknown quantity on clay where he is 5-10 this year mostly due to the slowness of the surface taking the sting off his serve and groundies which lessen the efficiency of his approaches and allow his opponents more time to rev up the passing shot. The Spaniard is extremely fast around the court, reads the play well and can mix solid defense with attacking forays and clearly has no qualms with the guys who like to rush him as good h2h records over Isner (1-0), Guccione (1-0), Karlovic (2-1), Muller (2-0) and Melzer (1-1) would suggest. Zverev is too slow, too one-dimensional and is all at sea on the dirt so the logical selection is the Spaniard at some currently juicy odds.
