Congrats to those of you who picked Wozniacki. Wozniacki is playing well and with a lot of confidence. Azarenka on the other hand is just mentally weak. And the worst part is she shows it to her opponent. I think living in the US has made her soft. Against good opponents, she is one to stay away from in the future. Someone who is weak mentally is not going to improve on that aspect within the near future. Painful lesson learned for me...

@scooby - fully agree, it's different to Sharapovas but equally annoying. I hope this rain delay doesn't last long.

When you look for patterns from these 2 over the last year you see that they have a similarity in that they both tend to lose only to top 10 players. However, Woz has a reasonable record of coming back from 1 set down whereas Vicki is a confidence player and nearly always loses from 1 set down. If Woz wins the first set I'll have an in-play bet on her even at much reduced odds. Otherwise if you fancy a bet from the outset then either player could win this so the value is with Vicki I suppose.

This is for sure the tie of the round and I can't wait! Azarenka is a star in the making but I have to go with my favourite girl Wozniacki here, she is on a hot streak and playing great tennis. She is the full package with her looks and her tennis ability.

Well first of all the only thing I'd miss this match for is a date with Ana Ivanovic. Both made light work of their previous round opponents. Azarenka defeated Benesova while Caroline crushed Rael's lady friend Camerin in 2 easy sets. I think every single person on tennisinsight likes both of these two actually. I'd imagine anyway. Wozniacki is like a God in Denmark, she's 17 years old and is on the cover of every magazine and treated like a Princess. The Sky Sports commentary crew were all asked to pick an outsider for the tournament and 7/8 chose Wozniacki, with just Leif Shiras going for Vic. Wozniacki has stepped onto the main Tour but it seems like she hasn't realised because she's carried on doing here what she was doing at lower level tearing everyone to pieces. I've backed her at 40/1 pre tournament and I'm going to give her my support to beat the Belarussian here. Caroline has the complete package, she's powerful off either side, good serve, quick, mentally beyind her years and most importantly of all is another little beauty. Who's going to back against her considering the form she's been in all year because I'm certainly not.

What a match up deserved of a QF (or thereabouts) and a chance at really making it a long way in this tournament considering the next up seed Jankovic is exhausted and Zvonareva is already out. Azarenka made the semis at Montreal, the 3rd round at Beijing and has come out this week as a woman on a mission with crushing victories over Zakopalova and the rejuvinated Benesova. She was won a combined 73% of first serve points, cracked countless winners and poured heaps of pressure onto the opponent's second ball winning 22 of 25 against Zakopalova in that department then 11 of 18 against the Czech. Wozniacki has had a much heavier schedule as she has had to come straight from her New Haven title and has already played 8 sets this week having also won two doubles matches with Marta Domachowska. She's lost a combined 6 games en route to the 3rd round, but opponents such as Rolle and Camerin are hardly going to prove competition for this rising star from Denmark. Woz has committed just a combined 26 unforced errors and a combined 79% of first serve points, but her opponents were going for broke as they knew no other way to beat her and ended up gift wrapping both matches for Caroline. In Azarenka she'll find a completely different prospect - the Belarussian has a massive serve, penetrates off the ground, is a superb athlete with great stamina and has wonderful volleying skills that she'll look to put on display here against an opponent who will rarely venture off the baseline. Wozniacki can certainly match it with Victoria, but I feel Azarenka's forecourt ability and extra bite off the ground could be what is required for Wozniacki's undoing. Remember Caroline has disappointed at Grand Slam level up until now, and crushing defeats on this surface to the likes of Venus, Sharapova, Kuznetsova and Radwanska would suggest she still hasn't conjured that ability to consistently match it with the world's elite. Will be a glorious match to watch, but in my opinion the bookies have got it all wrong and the fresher legs and superior variety of Azarenka should prevail provided her often-questionable mindset is right.

This is the match that can be the making of my Belarussian Assassin. Get this in the bag and we can make smash a path to a Semi.

The eyes of the World will be feasting on these 2 up and comers and I will ride the bullet with Vicki. She has been a catalyst to me damaging Bookies in the past and I never ever turn my back on who i admire and adore.

Match of the round between two quality up and coming players. I really believe that the winner of this match will roast Jelena in the next round and will have a realistic chance of making the final.
Slight preference is for the in form Wozniacki, but you discount Azarenka at your peril.
