Akgul looks like the right side here given the posted odds. I have this match close to 50/50 so obviously I see value in the dog here. Akgul has shown she can play with the elite on any surface, while Schiavone has shown a propensity to lose to lesser players. I'll also rate the eastern Europe nationalism as a plus.

I'll go for Amanmuradova which form is good. Her country expectations at the Olympics might be an extra motivation.

Schiavone reminds me of a character from a typically farcical Italian drama. All the emotions, the chit chat, the sarcastic grimmaces, the backstabbing...i'd only watch her play if i had a choice between this match and a Bollywood Production.
