He was mauled by Gasquet in Toronto after being humbled by Robredo on clay a week prior, then in Cincy was beaten at his own defensive-style game by claycourter Nicolas Lapentti. The Spaniard appears to have some yips on serve and is making a few more unforced errors than we are accustomed to seeing. Conditions here aren't as hot and humid as he would have liked given his brilliant fitness and stamina, and the chance is there for the flashy Tipsarevic who only need to repeat the form he showed at Wimbledon to be a big chance here. The Serb has all the shots in the book - often too many which his occasionally poor decision-making will attest - and reports are that he has pulled up fine from his ankle niggle that forced him to withdraw from the Cincy doubles event. Tipsarevic is a very patriotic and passionate player who may find an extra gear whilst representing his country (12-4 in Davis Cup singles since 2004, losses to Fed, Hewitt and Rusedski), and has the firepower to push Ferrer behind the baseline on a regular basis. He'll need to remain calm mentally as the Spaniard won't give in, but he is definitely value and seems to bob up quite often when seemingly given little hope. |

This is one of the game of the rounds, both players could be in better form but im backing Janko to come through in a close match,i feel he as more weapons on a hard court an he is another play who will dictate this match. That will not be a problem for the Spaniard as he as a counter punch game, but i will stick with the serb |

Ferrer should be 4.4 lol |

Tipsarevic will also be looking forward to representing his country in Beijing but Ferrer has the game to beat him. Tipsarevic can get down on himself against workhorses like Ferrer who chase everything down and fight until the death. I'll go with David. |
