Igor Kunitsyn's hang-over was a gift to Stoppini. On the other hand it was a comfortable journey for Don Juan too to the 2nd round - a walk-over. I've a strong feeling that we're going to see Del Potro in the final. I is in such a great shape and looks hungry victories. No, this favorite will not fall. It's halt and stop for Stoppini here.

Del Potro is the better player by some distance, but due to it being his first match in the tournament I would say no bet. We've seen Haas, Lopez and Verdasco all lose in the first round of this tournament simply because they can't be arsed.

This tournament is crazy. Everyday dogs are bitting and beating favs. I support the italian boy at great odds in first round cos of Kut inactivity. The same reason for this one. Potro was playing good in clay..but that was 3 weeks ago and his record in hard is not as good as odds show. Again on value side @4,8 Stoppini betfair

Grebarton - I think you are very wise with value. However, I can't see passed Del Porto here. I know what you mean regarding hard courts, but still the guy is in amazing form - albeit not on the hard stuff. For me it has to be Del Porto - I think he'll take it in 2 and an early night. One can only hope...

Del Potro is pretty awesome away from hard but on hard has had 5 upsets in recent times. Likewise Stoppini has beaten 5 favourites on hard in recent times. So again there isn't any real value in Del Potro and if Verdasco can lose to Serra...

Stoppini last match he won 6-1 6-3 but was broken 3 times. he played like he was on a WTA tour. So Del Potro will win this with ease 2-0

Del Potro has only played 4 Hard court matches all season, 2 wins 2 losses (Against Ferrer and Lopez) , why all the love? hes 4-6 in his last 10 Hard Court matches, and he hasn't played a hard court match since March.

Sure Potro is a class above , But stopini has been playing on the is surface for the past month

This could get nasty. Stoppini belongs on challenger level which is where he has been all year. Beating kunitsyn last match was his first win at any level above challenger all year in the main draw. Well, that will be his only one win so far this year as he is no match for del potro who not to mention is in awesome form lastely. Should be a quick straight sets win.

After some amazing results yesterday the ship should sail in some calmer weather today - so i hope. I like Spadea today but leave his match for the young man from argentina. Everything was said about his amazing form in Europe and i think he will be well prepared for his first hard court match since march. Since then his form and confidence should be some higher and now facing an opponent he already beat as a teenager 3 years ago should ease the start in the US.

My election to sit out these mickey mouse tournaments is proving valuable. once again, we have, in our heads a player that was in scintillating form 3 weeks ago returning to a tournament against a player that has 2-3 matches behind him and been competitive.

With this in mind, I'd go for Stoppini but my problem is I don't even know what he looks like or plays like....pass option is the best option.

Got to be the banker of the R16.Del Potro has started to show his early promise with some promising results this year.I would predict Juan will be a top 15 player next year,he certainly has all the weapons at his disposal.Should see off very average Stoppini in 2.

Del potro is the best argentian in this moment so i don t think so that Stoppini will have a chance with that giant of 1.90 . Stoppini will lose very bad ...unfortunalety for him.....

Del Potro beat a 25 year old Stoppini when he was just 16 in straight sets, and I'm pretty sure Del Potro has improved a lot more since then than his opponent.

Stoppini beat Kunitsyn in 3 sets but will face a much tougher task in combatting the talented Argentinian youngster, Del Potro is a solid player and won't give Stoppini an inch, Del Potro should win here convincingly.

Nothing huge to add to the preceding, I wouldn't think Stoppini will get the same generousity on serve from Del Potro, who possesses easily enough power to bury the italian.

I think we all know the script for this one - Del Potro dishing up a violent beating. The leggy Argentine is playing the best Tennis of his short career and has picked up back to back titles, he will also be quitely confident of making that 3. Stoppini broke Kunitsyn a total of 7 times so you can either go with Stoppini played great or Kunitsyn gave a no show - having not watched either I'd still definitely say it was more like the latter. Either way, the Italian will be the one turning up so I suppose he deserves his place. Del Boy is superior in every department, big serve, big groundstrokes and Stoppini will prove no match. Del Potro actually defeated Stoppini back in 05 in his home country as a virtual unknown. 2-0.
