Gicqel is no doubt the better overall player but he is not exactly great on hardcourt. Young got a great result against Haas but how hard was the playboy trying ? On balance you must say that in front of a home crowd and with a good result behind him then Young must have a reasonable chance so the odds are more than generous enough to have a punt on the young and inconsistent Young.

I'm going to pick Donald Young here. He's got 5 defeats as an underdog on hard courts in recent times and Gicquel is due just that.

this is one to avoid but I will have a bet. I went against young against haas, just like any other young match. And I will go against him here. I can see young pull this out only because it is on hard. Young's best surfacae...Gicquel's worse. Young has struggled mightly against anyone halfway decent this year. He is playing at home and played well against haas so see if he can continue his run...until he actually meets someone decent on hard.

Young will get my vote for this match.Talented player in is junior days an now after is greast win last night against former world number 2 he for sure will have more confidence in himself which is only a postive thing.Im still not convined enough on is movement but he can work on that in the off season!!

I'll wrap my posts tonite with this one...

Donald young stands a great chance of beating Gicquel here as playing in front if his US fans and no doubt getting accolades for the "upset" victory over new Prince of Myrth, Ha Ha Haas.

Gicquel is coming off a a couple of days break. Donald Young wasn't made to work by Haas and had plenty in reserve before that match was up.

I sense Young's "eye" is in and should be able to carry through and win.

I will abandon my exodus from betting and actually go for Young...heck why not, in Disneyland tournaments like this, every dream seems to come through.

Gicquel should take this comfortably, much more stable than the flamboyant young who has a lot to learn about patience in his game.

Too difficult because each time I think of one reason for the favourite I can think of another for the underdog. If you have to bet the Young, but otherwise too close.

What on Earth happened to Haas? It's just a big question mark for me. Nevertheless, Marc Gicquel will take the teenage playboy Donald Young back to his ranking level.

looks like Gicquel could be the benefactor of what has to be considered a huge upset (although I kind of doubt that Haas was even the tiniest bit upset by losing that match)
