A bet on 2-0 looks the best play here (to completely remove possibillity of retirement loss). Roddick losing this would be the biggest shock in a long time. |

Clearly he's giving himself the best chance to do well at the US, after the Olympics are actually over, the record in grand slams is far more important. Only twice since 2001 has Roddick lost in the US to someone who wasn't No.1, taking Federer the last 2 years to know him out. I'll be happy to put up my aces if Roddick meets Cilic in a best of 5 in that atmosphere. |

He is the top seed and is obviously looking to do well here. Vemic was a winner over Warburg earlier who choked when serving out for the match. Roddick will have no problems first up here. 2-0. |

He retired in the previous TMS as a precaution for the US Open, as he has made clear by electing not to travel to Beijing. I would say the US Open is his main priority every year, and staying in America to get some hard court lead up is a good sign. I'm not worried by his injury concern because if he is going to suffer from it he will retire from the match with the US coming up. I would say he will blast through Vemis in 2 sets here. And I don't write off his chances of a good USO. |
