The line was at -140 on Sunday, and is now at -117. This would lead me to believe that Andreev is the play. However, I'm going to guess that travel was taken heavily into consideration when that line was set and has been adjusted due to the day off. As long as Monfils isn't still nursing an injury, I believe he will win this match.

Some info on Monfils - he said himself he is totally fit and rested and has spent some time in Miami curing himself and training for the US Tour. He has a new doctor - some kind of a unorthodox medical therapist - and a new coach Roger Rasheed. He seems to be on a new start in his career after the disappointments with his health lately. How much if that is true we will see tonight if Andreev presents a challenge.

my moneys on andreev he leads in the h2h 3-1 and the one he lost was on grass which is his worst surface, monfils can also be very erratic and hes not going to get as many free points on his serve if its windy, andreev is far better behind his second serve

Andreev for me too. He was valiant the last match he lost to Verdasco in as is a player that wins 2-3 matches ina tourney.

With rain affecting play, court will be slower than usual. This should benefit Andreev's game play.

Seem to be some notes of interrogation above this match. Andreev lost 2 finals within a short time plus he plays now in the states and on another surface. So you can speculate for adjustment problems, tiredness or a bad composition after his 2 defeats. Monfils was plunged for a long time after his injury so nobody knows whats his physical status is but if he starts he should be fit. So this for sure too simple calculation gives Monfils my choice.

Andreev is an elite athlete who should be extremely fit. So he shouldn't be fatigued if he has a good recovery program.

I actually think both players will be physically fine. Andreev only played four matches in Umag last week, plus he got in a day of rest - he's a fit guy. I don't think Monfils would show if he weren't ready to go and his ankle injury didn't seem that serious. He wants to get a good head start on a surface where he could use a lot of tactical improvement. I'm gonna treat this match like all variables are equal. If that were the case, irregardless of the head to head, Andreev would still get my backing as he has been plugging away at a high level. Now add in the head to head, and that justifies my medium backing on Andreev - Maybe a tight match though, reserved for the strong stomachs.

Really tough to make the argument for either player. Monfil is coming off an ankle injury and what kind of form will he be in. Andreev finished a grueling match vs. Verdasco on Sunday in Croatia. How fatigued will he be? I'd give the edge to Monfils because if Andreev shows any sign of that, Gael should be able to wear him down, while using his big serve to win the easy points.

Even though Igor has less time to recuperate, i doubt it that Gael will win.
