The two time Canadian player of the year is busy focusing on his pre-Beijing form with more glorified partner Daniel Nestor, but I guess you could make a case for saying he has prepared for the hardcourts with two challengers inside North America in the last couple of weeks where he succumbed to Delic in Winnetka and Udomchoke in the semis of Granby. At this event, the local man has lost all but one of his previous 11 encounters suggesting the home crowd has done very little to boost his chances, and the incredible returning of Robredo is unlikely to relent. The Spanish 12th seed may not have the greatest hard court record in recent times (22-16 since 2007) nor does he usually perform to his utmost best at TMS level (15-14), but Tommy is confident after a final in Warsaw and winning the title ni Bastard over quality opposition and will have far too many answers for the Canadian who will be biting the dust early again. |
